NSW: Police officer charged with assaulting woman

SYDNEY, Jan 13 AAP - A police officer in Sydney has been charged with assaulting a woman.
Police said the woman suffered a black eye, bruising and scratches in the "domestic-related" attack outside a Sydney home on Saturday evening.
The incident was reported to police on Monday afternoon and officers went to the home about 8.15pm (AEDT).
A 39-year-old male police officer has been charged with common assault and has been bailed to appear in Sutherland Local Court on January 21.
