DARWIN, Jan 16, AAP - A woman was allegedly kidnapped by her former boyfriend, who sexually assaulted and beat her while holding her captive in an outback town over several days.

After the 30-year-old woman escaped from her ordeal, police said the man found her at a town camp in Tennant Creek and, together with his current girlfriend, assaulted her again.

The women spoke to police about the attack on Wednesday.

She told officers that her former partner had forced her into a car last Friday morning, as she was walking along Peko Road.

The 27-year-old then allegedly took her to his home at Dump Camp, where he repeatedly sexually assaulted and beat her over the next three days.

The woman managed to escape on Sunday when she fled the camp and returned to her home at Village Camp.

But it is alleged she was again assaulted by the man and his new girlfriend when they came to her camp on Tuesday.

Police arrested the alleged offenders on Wednesday and charged the man with deprivation of liberty, numerous counts of sexual assault and aggravated assault.

The 27-year-old female offender was charged with aggravated assault.

The couple were remanded to appear in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court on Friday.
