SYDNEY, Jan 23 AAP - A man who had been disqualified from driving until he reached the age of 80 faces numerous charges after being involved in two police pursuits in the NSW Hunter Valley region, police say.

Police began pursuit of a Mitsubishi Lancer at about 10pm (AEDT) on Thursday after the driver refused to stop for a random breath test at Wilberforce.

After 30 minutes the pursuit was terminated.

At about 11.10pm (AEDT) a highway patrol spotted the same car at Milbrodale where a second pursuit was initiated.

The police used road spikes to deflate all the tyres of the man's car, but he continued to drive on bare rims for some time before coming to a stop at Mitchell's Flat.

The 30-year-old driver was then arrested and it was discovered he had been disqualified from driving until 2058.

The man has been charged with drive manner dangerous, drive disqualified, use unregistered vehicle, use uninsured vehicle, state false name, use vehicle displaying misleading number plate and use vehicle displaying misleading registration label.

He has been refused bail to appear in Muswellbrook Local Court later on Friday.
