WELLINGTON, Feb 1 NZPA - A New Zealand woman has admitted conning a 72-year-old man out of more than $NZ94,000 ($A74,188) after being invited to his home to provide sexual services.

Mary Birch, 45, gym membership adviser, pleaded guilty in the Tauranga District Court on Friday to 47 counts of using a document for pecuniary advantage, the Bay of Plenty Times reported.

Birch was invited by the man, who had recently separated from his wife, to his Papamoa home to provide sex services in February last year.

The offences were committed between March and July last year, when Birch used the victim's Kiwibank card to make unauthorised withdrawals, wrote out a $NZ85,000 ($A67,085) cheque drawn on the man's trust account, forged his and his wife's signatures and banked the money into her bank account.

Birch denied a further 40 counts of dishonestly using a Kiwibank card, for pecuniary advantage involving between $NZ15,000 ($A11,838) and $NZ20,000 ($A15,784), plus one count of money laundering involving $NZ113,000 ($A89,184).

She was further remanded in custody until March 10 to set a sentencing date and a possible trial date for the contested charges.
