Qld: More rain for flooded north Queensland

Flood-ravaged north Queensland is set to face further disaster with the weather bureau predicting heavy rain for the rest of the week .. and a possible cyclone.

The weather bureau says falls of up to 400 millimetres are expected across north Queensland as far northwest as the Gulf of Carpentaria and from Cairns to Ayr in the next two to three days.

The worst-hit area of Ingham has seen at least 20 inundated homes evacuated as the Herbert River peaked at 12.2 metres .. its highest level in two decades.
