Fed: $27 million in funding for climate change projects

The green technology sector is set to benefit from over 27 million dollars in new funding as part of the federal government's Climate Ready program.

The first round of funding for the program has been announced by Science Minister KIM CARR and will be shared between 32 new projects aimed at tackling climate change.

Big winners include wind turbine component manufactures HofWind .. solar panel developers BT Imaging .. and wave power developers Oceanlinx Limited.

Senator CARR says the funding will help to create and support around 400 new jobs in the green sector.
