Qld: Schools evacuate as police inspect suspicious package

BRISBANE, Feb 24 AAP - Two schools in central Queensland have been evacuated as police send in explosives experts to investigate a suspicious package.
A police spokesman said a suspicious package was found on the side of the road near two schools in Emerald.
He said one school had evacuated to the town hall while the other one had shifted students to buildings away from the cordoned off street.
Police have also evacuated residents on Gladstone Street, where the package was found at about 8.20am (AEST) on Tuesday.
