Qld: Man holds up Gold Coast petrol station

BRISBANE, Feb 28 AAP - Police are searching for a man who attempted to rob a Gold Coast petrol station at gunpoint on Saturday.
A police spokesman said the man entered the Merrimac BP service station, on Ghilgai Drive, just before 2am (AEST) and threatened the console operator with a hand gun.
The operator retreated into a secure room leaving the man standing in the service area, who then fled empty-handed.
