Qld: Labor sets target of creating 100,000 jobs if re-elected

Queensland Premier ANNA BLIGH has officially launched Labor's election campaign just days out from the state election .. she's promising to create 100 thousand jobs and protect the environment.

Ms BLIGH told the crowd in South Bank a Labor government would bulk purchase 200 thousand solar hot water systems and sell them to families for 500 dollars and pensioners for a hundred dollars.

She says the plan would create up to 500 jobs and cut carbon emissions by up to 540 thousand tonnes over three years.

She also pledged to build a two thousand kilometre walk from the Daintree River to the tip of Cape York .. also creating more than a thousand jobs.

She says Labor would also spend almost 42 million over three years on maternity services.
