European stocks surge, Paris up 3.18 percent

Europe's leading stock markets surged on Monday .. on the back of investor hopes for an economic recovery .. with the CAC 40 index in Paris soaring 3.18 per cent to close at 2,791.66 points.
London's FTSE 100 index of leading shares rose 2.94 per cent to 3,863.99 .. and the Frankfurt DAX added 2.30 per cent to 4,044.54 .. rising above the threshold of 4,000 points seen as an important landmark by investors.
