NSW: Indecent assault charges upgraded for former coach

SYDNEY, March 18 AAP - A former athletics teacher who allegedly assaulted three girls in his care is facing additional charges over two new alleged victims.
Leslie Bird, 67, was previously accused of assaulting three young girls at a clubhouse in northern Sydney and faced eight charges of aggravated indecent assault.
The girls, then aged between 12 and 17, were allegedly assaulted between 1998 and 2006.
During his first appearance at Ryde Local Court on Wednesday, Bird faced a further four similar charges relating to another two people.
Bird's strict bail conditions were continued and the matter is due to be mentioned at Burwood Local Court on May 13.
