BRISBANE, March 21 AAP - Queensland's sole Greens MP Ronan Lee says he is "thrilled" with his party's results so far.

Mr Lee, who defected from the Labor Party last year, did not receive Labor preferences in his Brisbane seat of Indooroopilly, and said the result there was too close to call.

"It's going to be a cliffhanger," he told reporters in the Brisbane tally room.

"It's a great result for the Greens in Indooroopilly. We're beating Labor, and the Liberal Nationals have not recorded the big swings to them that they were predicting.

"This is a clear indication that people were unhappy about the environmental policies of the LNP and have been ferociously disappointed with the performance of the Labor state government on the environment.

"This is a message from the people of Queensland that they want a green heart in government."

Mr Lee, who is trailing LNP candidate Scott Emerson in early counting, said the Greens were more than 10 per cent ahead of the vote they received in Indooroopilly at the last election.

"This is a great endorsement for the Greens. I'm really happy with how we're travelling," he said.
