SYDNEY, April 21 AAP - More than 50 outlaw motorcycle gang members have been arrested by NSW police since the formation of Strike Force Raptor.

Formed on March 27, after a deadly brawl at Sydney Airport between the Hells Angels and Comanchero gangs, the elite strike force targets the illegal activities of members of outlaw motorcycle gangs (OMCG).

It is also focused on preventing violence by bikie members.

"This is on the ground, in your face policing and the NSW Police Force are doing what it takes to target OMCG criminal activity," NSW Police Minister Tony Kelly said in a statement on Tuesday.

He said that since its inception, Strike Force Raptor had arrested 52 outlaw motorcycle gang members.

More than 120 charges had been laid and a substantial number of amphetamines, firearms and weapons seized, he said.

"This government and police have made it clear that they will not tolerate these criminal thugs who think they can terrorise our community," Mr Kelly said.
