Fed: Three flu sufferers isolated in Tasmania

28 Apr 2009 1:40 PM

The number of people in Tasmania who've been tested for the deadly swine flu has risen from two to three.

State Health Minister LARA GIDDINGS has told Parliament this morning that two people are being isolated after presenting with flu-like symptoms.

Tasmania's director of public health Dr CHRISSIE PICKIN now says a third person is being tested.

All presented themselves after returning from visits to the United States and Mexico in the past six to eight days.

Dr PICKIN says none are seriously ill and all are being managed in isolation at home awaiting test results.

Ms GIDDINGS and Dr PICKIN will hold a news conference later today.
