Qld: Three in serious but stable condition after horror crash

BRISBANE, May 4 AAP - Two teenage boys and a man critically injured in a fatal two-car collision in Toowoomba remain in hospital in a stable but serious condition.

Seven teenage boys, including two in the boot, were travelling in a sedan that ploughed into an oncoming car on Saturday night, killing two teenagers and critically injuring three others.

One of the deceased was travelling in the boot.

The driver of the second car was seriously injured.

A man and a boy are in a serious but stable condition at Toowoomba Hospital and a second boy remains in a critical condition at Royal Brisbane Hospital.

The boys were travelling home on the New England Highway, north of Toowoomba, from a function at Highfields about 10pm (AEST).

Police have yet to interview the 17-year-old driver.
