NSW: Zero degree morning forecast for nth-west Sydney

Sydneysiders are waking up to icy temperatures this morning .. with some parts of the city dropping below zero degrees.

Cold temperatures brought snow to parts of central western New South Wales and the Blue Mountains yesterday .. prompting warnings for motorists to drive with caution.

Temperatures in Sydney will be slightly warmer today at 16 degrees .. after yesterday's maximum of 14.

But the morning will be considerably colder than yesterday .. after temperatures overnight dropped into the minus at places like Richmond on the city's western outskirts .. and to about six degrees in the city itself.

The weather bureau says cold .. frosty nights will continue in New South Wales for the rest of the week.
