NSW: Man charged after two-hour police pursuit

A disqualified NSW driver will face Newcastle Local Court today on multiple charges .. after allegedly leading police on a two-hour chase around Newcastle and Lake Macquarie in a stolen car yesterday.

The Holden Rodeo was stolen from Georgetown on Saturday .. and failed to stop for a random breath test on the Pacific Highway at Charlestown about two o'clock (AEST) yesterday morning.

After travelling through several suburbs .. police used road spikes at Warners Bay which deflated one of the front tyres .. and the driver eventually stopped just after 4am at Glendale.

The 25-year-old West Wallsend man was refused bail and will appear today on 17 charges .. including driving while disqualified .. car theft .. and driving in a dangerous manner.
