BRISBANE, June 29 AAP - University of Queensland (UQ) scientists on Monday will reveal their swine flu vaccine.

But they caution it might not be available for a while, because it's not yet registered for use in Australia.

The breakthrough against the influenza A(H1N1) virus will be announced at the university's Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology on Monday morning.

Five Australians with swine flu have died while more than 3,000 have been diagnosed.

"It's one of the first swine flu vaccines made but, unfortunately, it can't be used in Australia yet," a university spokesman told AAP on Sunday.

"It's not registered for use in Australia yet."
