Wall Street climbs on upbeat US jobs report

US stocks rose at the opening after a much-awaited July jobs report was better than expected .. signalling a likely turnaround in the long and painful recession.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average of blue chips gained 65.52 points (0.71 per cent) to 9,321.78 in opening trades.
The tech-heavy Nasdaq composite leapt 20.95 points (1.06 per cent) to 1,994.11.
The Standard & Poor's 500 index advanced 8.10 points (0.81 per cent) to 1,005.18.
