SYDNEY, Nov 2 AAP - A man has been charged after a pedestrian was knocked down in Sydney's west.
Police said a 43-year-old St Marys man suffered serious head injuries when he was hit by a car on the Great Western Highway at St Marys about 8.15pm (AEDT) yesterday.
The driver of a Mazda car returned a positive roadside break test and was arrested and taken to Penrith Police Station where a subsequent breath analysis registered a reading of 0.195.
A 39-year-old St Marys has had his licence suspended and has been charged with high range drink driving.
He has been granted conditional bail and is due to appear in Penrith Local Court on November 25.
Police from the Crash Investigation Unit will continue with the investigation.
