NSW Police say a teenager's in hospital with serious head injuries .. after falling from the boot of a moving car driven by a P-plater west of Newcastle.
They say a girl and a boy .. both aged 15-year-old from Muswellbrook .. were sitting on the car's boot on a driveway off Molly Morgan Drive in East Maitland.
The girl fell off .. hitting her head on the pavement .. when the car went over a speed hump.
She's in John Hunter Hospital in a serious but stable condition .. while the boy was uninjured.
A 17-year-old Muswellbrook boy holding a P1 driver's license was at the wheel of the vehicle and has been assisting police with their inquiries.
