ASIA: Bombers' human rights violated: lawyers

Lawyers for the three death row Bali bombers claim their clients' human rights have been violated .. because their family and legal team were denied a visit today.

Lawyers for AMROZI .. his brother MUKHLAS and IMAM SAMUDRA were twice turned away from Cilacap's main port after they tried to visit the three Islamicmilitants .. along with four family representatives.

Defence lawyer ACHMAD MICHDAN says he's still awaiting a letter from the Attorney General's Office in Jakarta on when permission might be given.

MICHDAN's also flagged further legal action .. following a fourth last-ditch request for a judicial appeal by the bombers' families in Bali .. including suing the government if the men are put to their deaths.

The lawyers will take their case to Indonesia's National Human Rights Commission tomorrow .. and to a parliamentary committee.

The group today brought food and letters to be given to the three convictedterrorists .. who could be executed by firing squad as early as tonight over their roles in the 2002 Bali bombings.

The October 12 attacks killed 202 people including 88 Australians.
