SYDNEY, Nov 3 AAP - Sydney siblings hit by a police Taser stun gun afterallegedly resisting arrest have faced court, one pleading guilty to assaulting an officer and the other admitting to malicious damage.
Luke Allen Batchelor, 28, of St Clair, today pleaded guilty to five counts of malicious damage after smashing four Sydney shopfront windows and the window of a parked car in the early hours of October 10.
Police received a call that Luke Batchelor and his sister, Liesl Anne Batchelor, 31, of Winston Hills, were seen carrying a metal pole in the area.
Officers allege Luke Batchelor became aggressive when they tried to arrest him at Darling Harbour, and that they were forced to use a Taser gun to subdue him.
However, in Sydney's Downing Centre Local Court today, he pleaded not guilty to a charge of resisting arrest.
Police allege Liesl Batchelor also attacked them during the scuffle and when capsicum spray had no effect, a Taser was also used to subdue her.
Through her solicitor, Liesl Batchelor today pleaded guilty to one charge of assaulting a police officer and two charges of resisting arrest, on the proviso that the facts be altered to remove any references to her co-accused.
The amended facts are yet to be approved by police or tendered to court.
Liesl Batchelor's matter was adjourned until November 19.
Her brother is due to face court again on December 17.
