NSW: Items of interest found during cold-case death search
11 Nov 2008 6:55 PMNew South Wales police say the excavation of a Blue Mountains property in search of clues about a decades-old suspected murder has turned up items of interest .. but no human remains.
Police are excavating a buried shipping container at the abandoned Blackheath property .. to search for the remains of 30-year-old JILL LESLEY GAMBLIN.. last seen in the Sydney CBD on December 2 .. 1979.
A team of 30 officers has been scouring the property .. formerly occupied by a person who's now dead .. who may have been Ms GAMBLIN's boyfriend at the time of her disappearance.
Police say they've sent away a number of items for forensic examination .. believed to include pieces of clothing.
The search is expected to last for several days.
