NSW: Drive-by house shot at three times in two months: police
12 Nov 2008 2:13 PMSYDNEY, Nov 12 AAP - The drive-by shooting of a western Sydney home thatleft a man with minor injuries is the third gun attack on the address in two months, police say.
A neighbour of the home on Sackville St in Fairfield, says she fears for her safety after the series of shootings, the latest occurring at 11.30pm (AEDT) yesterday.
A 54-year-old man, who was standing outside the address when the shooting occurred, suffered minor shoulder and stomach wounds after being struck by debris dislodged as bullets hit the house.
He has since been released from Liverpool Hospital.
Police said they had no information to back media reports the wounded man was holding a baby when the shots were fired, but confirmed the home was targeted twice in the past.
Police said the shots came from a white ute which did not stop.
Shots were also fired from the ute at a vehicle parked in the injured man'sdriveway and another parked at a nearby intersection.
A neighbour, who did not want to be identified, told AAP the shots woke her.
"I just looked through the window, scared, to see what was going on but couldn't stay there because I was worried," the neighbour said.
"This year it's the third time it's happened at that place - the first timeabout two months ago and then again about a week later."
The woman said she did not know the occupants of the house where the man was shot.
"I wish we could know what is going on, it's scary having this sort of thing going on so close," she said.
Police will forensically examine the bullets recovered at the scene, and investigate links between the three incidents.
"Police are investigating whether this incident is linked to two other shootings in September outside the same premises," a police spokesman said.
