NSW: Man to be charged for alleged laser importation: Customs
12 Nov 2008 4:39 PMA Sydney man will face court .. accused of trying to smuggle hundreds oflaser pointers into Australia.
The 46-year-old man from North St Marys was stopped by Australian Customs officials on Saturday .. after arriving at Sydney international airport on aflight from Shanghai.
Customs alleges the officials found 360 undeclared laser pointers in his baggage .. which have been seized and will be destroyed.
The man will be issued a summons to appear in court for breaching the Customs Act .. and faces a maximum penalty of a 110-thousand dollar fine.
