NSW: Officers attacked, one injured, by drunken teenage mob
16 Nov 2008 4:13 PMPolice are expecting to lay charges after one officer was injured and others were attacked by a drunken mob of teenagers on the New South Wales Central Coast.
The incident happened at a community hall in Gwandalan about 9.30 last night (AEDT).
About 100 teenagers confronted police when they tried to disperse the crowdand confiscate alcohol .. with some of the youths throwing beer bottles ..stones and rocks at the officers.
One officer suffered injuries to his eye when a bottle smashed in front of him .. spraying glass into his face.
Officers were forced to use capsicum spray on one 15-year-old boy .. who allegedly threw a bottle at police .. and police are expecting to charge him.
