The lawyer for a teenager convicted of sexually assaulting an 82-year-old woman in a Sydney park says his client didn't remember the attack and wasdisgusted when told about it later.
Barrister IAN MCCLINTOCK's told a sentencing hearing in Parramatta DistrictCourt .. ROBERT EL-CHAMMAS suffered a serious concussion two years ago that may have affected his brain.
He said post-traumatic amnesia's not unusual .. but the 18-year-old has pleaded guilty to the attack in a West Ryde park in May anyway.
Mr MCCLINTOCK said it's a bizarre offence that cries out for some explanation .. and he requested the matter be adjourned for sentencing until EL-CHAMMAS can undergo more tests.
EL-CHAMMAS didn't apply for bail and it was formally refused by Judge ROY ELLIS .. who remanded him in custody to face the same court on December 12.
