Vic: Two Qantas 747s collide

Two Qantas planes have collided on a maintenance base near Melbourne.

And the airlaine says one of them was the plane involved in a mid-air explosion in Manila in July.

DAVID COX from QANTAS says the two Boeing 747s came into contact while theywere being towed this morning at the Avalon maintenance base .. south of Melbourne.

An undisclosed number of the workers involved have been stood down while aninvestigation is conducted.

QANTAS is refusing to comment on the extent of damage .. and won't say how close the aircraft damaged in Manila was to returning to the air.
