Aust stocks open stronger, led by banks and resources

The Australian sharemarket has opened stronger today .. led by the banksand big miners .. after modest gains on Wall Street.

At 10.15am (AEDT) the benchmark S&PASX200 index was up 30.8 points or 0.87per cent .. at 3554 .. while the broader All Ordinaries had gained 27.3 points or 0.78 per cent to 3540.4.

On the Sydney Futures Exchange .. the December share price index contract was 18 points higher at 3569 on a volume of 6,196 contracts.
