Qld: Three freed from balcony collapse
20 Nov 2008 3:28 PMBRISBANE, Nov 20 AAP - Three people trapped under a fallen debris of a balcony in Brisbane's north have been freed by firefighters.
One of the victims of the collapse is in a critical condition and has been taken to the Royal Brisbane Hospital.
About 25 people were on the balcony of a two-storey Queenslander at Ascot when it collapsed at about 1pm (AEST) on Thursday.
A Queensland Emergency Services spokeswoman said 12 other people received minor injuries but she could not confirm if the person who was critically injured was one of those trapped.
