NSW: Man charged over double stabbing
20 Nov 2008 7:14 PMSYDNEY, Nov 20 AAP - A man has been charged with murder and attempted murder after a double stabbing in rural NSW which killed one man and seriously injured a woman.
Emergency services were called to a unit complex in West Kempsey, on the mid-north coast, where they found a man and woman with stab wounds just before 9am (AEDT) on Thursday, police said.
They were both taken to Kempsey District Hospital, but the 29-year-old man died shortly afterwards.
The 31-year-old woman remains in a serious but stable condition and will betransferred to Port Macquarie Hospital.
A 40-year-old man arrested at the scene has been charged with one count of murder and one count of attempted murder.
He has been refused bail to appear at Port Macquarie Local Court on Friday.
