Qld: Stranded sailors uninjured
21 Nov 2008 3:50 PMThe Australian Maritime Safety Authority says four sailors stranded on areef over 900 kilometres off the Queensland coast are not suffering any serious injuries.
The 14-metre New Zealand yacht the Sambaluka ran aground at Middle Boronia Reef in the Coral Sea .. east of Mackay .. shortly before four this morning(AEST).
AMSA has asked cruise ship operator P&O to divert its ocean liner the Pacific Sun .. en route from Vanuatu to Brisbane .. to rescue the men.
An AMSA spokesman says the rescue's expected to take place this afternoon.
