Qld: Stranded yacht crew rescued by ocean liner
21 Nov 2008 6:44 PMFour sailors stranded on a reef 900 kilometres off the Queensland coast after their yacht ran aground have been rescued by a cruise ship.
The three men and one woman were picked up by the P&O ocean liner the Pacific Sun this afternoon.
The Australian Maritime Safety Authority says the two men from New Zealand .. a woman from France and a man from New Caledonia .. are now on their wayto Brisbane on the cruise ship.
Their 14-metre Sambaluka ran aground on a reef in the Coral Sea on its way from Noumea to Australia.
