Vic: Police find gun near St Kilda pier after man shot and dumped
22 Nov 2008 12:45 AMMELBOURNE, Nov 22 AAP - Police have recovered a gun from the sea they believe was involved in the death of a 19-year-old man who was dumped outsidea Melbourne hospital this week.
Search and rescue divers pulled the gun out of waters at St Kilda pier on Friday evening.
Police believe the single-barrel, sawn-off shotgun was involved in the shooting of Tim Nguyen, from Delahey in Melbourne's outer north-west.
Nguyen died from a gunshot wound to the chest early Wednesday morning aftertwo men were witnessed by Sunshine hospital staff speeding off in a car after dumping his body outside the western suburban hospital's emergency department.
Homicide detectives interviewed a 21-year-old man over the death but he wasreleased pending further inquiries.
They also raided a house in St Albans on Wednesday afternoon where they believe Nguyen was shot.
