NSW: Cow falls into septic tank
23 Nov 2008 1:27 PMSYDNEY, Nov 23 AAP - A cow has fallen into a septic tank at a farm south-west of Sydney, the NSW Fire Brigades says.
Firefighters were called to the farm in the Picton area at around 11.50am (AEDT) on Sunday after reports that the roof of an underground septic tank had collapsed and a cow had fallen in.
"A 500kg cow fell into a septic tank three metres into the ground," a spokesman told AAP.
"It looks like the roof of the septic tank collapsed with all the rain."
He said firefighters were using lifting gear to remove the cow from the tank.
"We're still there working on it but rest assured it will be gotten out," he said.
He added that it was unclear at this stage whether the cow had suffered injury or trauma in the ordeal.
