Qld: Boy, 14, allegedly leads police on car chase

BRISBANE, Nov 23 AAP - A 14-year-old boy will face court on multiple dangerous driving charges and one count of assaulting police after a chase north of Brisbane.

Two other boys - aged 16 and 17 - plus an 18-year-old man, have also been charged with assaulting police and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

Police said officers tried to intercept a white sedan after seeing it beingdriven erratically on Elizabeth Avenue, in Clontarf, about 9pm (AEST) on Saturday.

The vehicle stopped on Gardenia Street and the occupants ran off.

The officers chased the four, catching two immediately and the remaining pair later.

The 14-year-old boy is due to appear in Redcliffe Children's Court on December 2, on one count each of dangerous operation and unlawful use of a motorvehicle, driving without a licence, failure to stop and assaulting police.

The 17-year-old boy and the man will appear in Redcliffe Magistrates Court on December 5 charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and assaulting police.

The 16-year-old will appear in Redcliffe Children's Court on December 2 on the same charges.

No one was injured in the chase and all were released on bail.
