NSW: Two more ferries collide on Sydney Harbour
23 Nov 2008 7:07 PMSYDNEY, Nov 23 AAP - Two ferries have been taken out of service after a collision at Sydney's Circular Quay.
The Lady Northcott ran up the stern of the Friendship as it was berthing at5.15pm (AEDT) Sunday, ramming the nose of the out of service ferry into the wharf.
Sydney Ferries believe a steering failure on the Northcott may have been responsible.
No one was on board the Friendship, and no passengers were injured on the Lady Northcott, one of the oldest vessels in the Sydney Ferries fleet.
"The Friendship has got a bit of damage at both ends - there is a decent dent into the back of the Friendship, where the Northcott has hit it," a Sydney Ferries spokesman said.
"They will both come out of service for a little while, but it depends on how bad the damage is, and I guess we won't know that until we have a look.
"Obviously, now we go through the investigation process, to get to the bottom of exactly what happened."
