NSW: NSW to introduce solar feed-in tariff
24 Nov 2008 2:32 AMThe New South Wales government says people will be paid for electricity they feed into the grid from solar power panels they put on their homes.
How much they'll get is yet to be worked out .. but ABC TV says it could beup to 60 cents a kilowatt .. or four times the price of conventional electricity.
Environment Minister CARMEL TEBBUTT says the feed-in tariff will act as an incentive for those wanting to help tackle climate change .. and adds to reaching the state's 20 per cent renewable energy target by 2020.
