NSW: Deregistered skin doctor treated patients "100 per cent"
24 Nov 2008 7:31 PMA Sydney skin doctor who was deregistered for professional misconduct and has prompted health authorities to contact thousands of his former patients .. says he cured them all.
DAVID LINDSAY was struck off the medical register in August for at least three years after being found guilty of professional misconduct .. and the Medical Tribunal of New South Wales also found he suffered a delusional disorder.
Mr LINDSAY has defended his record .. saying 100 per cent of his patients have been cured .. and he'll write to his patients to reassure them that they have been properly treated.
Concerns he may not have allowed enough of a buffer around skin cancers to ensure they are completely excised have been referred to New South Wales Health .. and records of nine-thousand patients have been reviewed .. and 13-hundred patients have been advised to see their GPs as soon as possible.
