Vic: High-speed pass fails to impress police
25 Nov 2008 12:07 AMA motorist who overtook a marked police car at more than 160 kilometres an hour on a Melbourne Freeway has had his car impounded for 48 hours.
Police allege the 27-year-old driver from Thomastown sped past the patrol car as both travelled along the Western Ring Road at Epping about 8.40 (AEDT) last night.
The driver was pulled over by a short distance on .. and has been charged with exceeding the speed limit .. while his car has been impounded for 48 hours under Victoria's anti-hoon laws.
