SYDNEY, Nov 26 AAP - Police are searching for a group of men who so severely bashed a teenager at a Sydney birthday party he was unrecognisable and needed hospital treatment.
The 17-year-old boy was beaten and robbed at a 16th birthday party at Castle Hill, in Sydney's north west, on October 25, police said.
At least three young men attacked the boy about 10.30pm (AEDT) at the party on Nanette Place, punching and kicking him, and stealing a number of personal items.
His injuries were so bad he was temporarily unrecognisable and needed hospital treatment for severe concussion, lacerations, abrasions and dental injuries.
Police are appealing for public help to find the men, after a search of the local area proved fruitless.
The men involved in the attack have been described as being aged between 17 and 20, with at least one of them of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance.
Anyone with information about the attack should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
