ASIA: Bomb near US embassy in Afghan capital kills four: police

KABUL, Nov 27 AFP - A suicide bomb blew up near the US embassy in the Afghan capital Kabul on Thursday, killing at least four people and wounding several more, police said.

"The information we have so far is that four people have been killed and three wounded. It was a suicide attack," a city police chief, General Alishah Paktiawal, told reporters at the scene.

The blast was at the Massoud Circle about 40 metres from the heavily secured entrance of the US embassy, an AFP reporter at the site said.

The body of what appeared to be a suicide bomber was at the scene, the reporter said.
