Qld: Man drowns trying to cross river

A man has drowned after he was swept away in strong currents trying to cross a river at Ballandean .. about 250 kilomtres south-west of Brisbane this morning.
The man .. believed to be in his 40s .. was driving a four wheel drive over the Severn River at Sundown National Park .. just before 4am.
Police say the man possibly exited the vehicle before being swept away soon after.
His body was found about one kilometre downstream around 10am.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
