Vic: Man wounded after confrontation with police

MELBOURNE, Dec 3 AAP - A man has suffered what is believed to be a minor gunshot wound to the leg after he allegedly confronted police with a sword and a knife in Melbourne's outer west.
Police were called to a domestic dispute, with reports of a woman being threatened with a knife, in Walsingham Crescent at Kurunjang, near Melton, about 10.40pm (AEDT), police said.
About 11.20pm, the man allegedly confronted police with the sword and knife.
Police fired shots but the man fled.
He was apprehended nearby about 11.40pm and was found to have suffered a leg wound.
He has been taken to hospital and is under police guard.
Ethical standards police will be advised of the incident.
