NSW: Off-duty police officer charged with drink driving

SYDNEY, Dec 6 AAP - An off-duty police officer has been arrested and charged with high-range drink driving in the carpark of a fast food restaurant on Sydney's northern beaches.
Police allege the senior constable registered a blood alcohol level of 0.186 shortly after leaving the drive-through section of the restaurant.
Police allege the off-duty officer was stopped in the carpark of the restaurant in Winbourne Road, Brookvale, about 10pm (AEDT) on Friday.
The 39-year-old officer, who was attached to the Central Metropolitan Region, was taken to Dee Why Police Station where his driver's licence was suspended and he was charged with high-range PCA.
He will appear at Manly Local Court on January 14, 2009.
Police said the officer is now on sick leave.
