PERTH, Dec 10 AAP - West Australian police want to question a man identified as a person of interest in the first of two fire bombings of Perth police stations.

Detective Senior Sergeant John Hutchison says an investigation into the fire bombing of the Joondalup Police station in Perth's northern suburbs on Monday night had turned up a number of persons of interest.

Warwick Police Station in Perth's northern suburbs was also targeted in a deliberate arson attack on Wednesday morning, with two cars owned by police officers also torched.

Det Hutchison said on Wednesday that 27-year-old Ryan Jones was being sought by police over Monday night's attack.

"We would ask that person - Ryan Jones, 27-years-old of Heathridge - that if he hears this message to contact police by some means and we want to talk to him ...," Det Hutchison told reporters.

A vehicle from a Heathridge property in Perth's eastern suburbs had been seized and was undergoing a forensic examination, Det Hutchison said.

Another man was being questioned by police from the same Heathridge address.

Det Hutchison said Mr Jones had not been linked to any other offence, including the Warwick attack.

Assistant Commissioner Nick Staltari said there was no evidence to link the attacks at this point.
