Key facts of Australian special forces operations in Afghanistan:
* Special operations task group (SOTG) numbers 330 with soldiers from Special Air Service Regiment, 4RAR Commando Battalion and other units.
* Seven Australian soldiers killed in Afghanistan since 2002, six from SOTG.
* 50 SOTG soldiers have been wounded in action, most returning to duty.
* In 524 days of operations, SASR soldiers have been on operations for 216 days and commandos for 256 days.
* SOTG soldiers have conducted 355 separate missions, most involving contact with enemy forces.
