ADELAIDE, Dec 11 AAP - A search has been launched for three police officers believed to be trapped after heavy rains in outback South Australia.
The officers had been working in the APY Lands at Umuwa and were expected back after lunch on Thursday, but failed to show up.
"They left heading towards Marla at about 7.30am this morning (Thursday) but have not arrived," a police spokeswoman said.
"There has been a large amount of rain there over the last few nights and the conditions on the roads are pretty bad at the moment. So we're thinking they're probably stranded or bogged somewhere.
"We've got a few cars out looking for them and also a fixed-wing aircraft from Coober Pedy."
