Vic: Police name youth shot dead by officers

MELBOURNE, Dec 12 AAP - The 15-year-old male youth shot dead by police in Melbourne's north has been named as Tyler Cassidy.
Three officers fired at the teenager as he threatened them with knives in a skate park about 9.30pm (AEDT) on Thursday, after two doses of capsicum spray failed to stop him.
Police have defended their actions but his death has prompted renewed calls for Victorian police to be issued with Taser guns.
